Problem

The Australian HR Institute (AHRI) is the professional body for Human Resources in Australia.

They provide resources, events, training and certification for HR practitioners and employers across Australia.

One of the key features of AHRI membership is access to the AHRI Assist library of resources – infosheets, templates, guides, tip sheets and more covering all core areas of HR.

These resources are invaluable for HR practitioners but had not been systematically reviewed or updated for five+ years.

AHRI set out to pull together a team of gun writers with expertise in HR best practice to revamp the AHRI Assist library in conjunction with the launch of a new member portal.

And that is where I came in.

Solution

With over 700 documents to review, edit or rewrite in approx 3 months it was a big job.

The 100% remote team of writers got to work. We each had our sections of documents to review, and a partner who would conduct a peer review before AHRI did the final sign off.

Some documents required editing for tone of voice, others needed to be merged together, made more concise, or have new information included. Each document had to be formatted to align with the AHRI style guide.

My area of specialisation was Strategic HR Management and Workforce Planning. I also helped peer review documents related to Recruitment and Retention, Performance Management and Policies and Procedures.

Impact

The new member portal was launched in March 2022 and feedback from members on the revamped resources library has been very positive. AHRI Assist continues to be a key reason why AHRI members renew their memberships.

Please note that as this content was produced for a membership portal it cannot be accessed by the public.

Katrina’s work was accurate, consistent and very methodical. She also pointed out areas for future development.

We worked successfully in a remote team and finished the project above expectations.

I highly recommend Katrina.
